Welcome to the WritingMinnesota PBwiki!

This wiki is designed for anyone interested in "Minnesota Literature," both "classic" and contemporary, both "literary" and otherwise. (What is literature? What is text?)

Primary contributions to this wiki will come from the readers-writers-scholars in various writing and literature courses at Anoka Ramsey Community College (MN, USA), but anyone with something to contribute is welcome to request access from the administrator, Scott Stankey, a teaching professor of English on the Coon Rapids Campus of Anoka Ramsey Community College (ARCC).

The Coon Rapids Campus of ARCC has had a "Visiting Writers Program" for over 10 years, with writers coming primarily from Minnesota but also from Wisconsin and the Dakotas--click here for a list of the writers who have participated. The Cambridge Campus of ARCC has had a "Minnesota Writers" program for over 20 years--click here for a list of the writers who have participated. Plans are being negotiated to combine both programs under a single banner, "Two Rivers Reading Series." (Stay tuned for more details!)

On the sidebar to the right, you should see links to general "genres" of writing, such as "novels" or "journalism." From there, more specific links will become available, particular to specific writers, but also to "genres" such as "young-adult novels" or "sports journalism." The wiki will hopefully become a community where we will:

  1. Store research sources, such as PDF document files
  2. Create links to websites we've found in our research
  3. Create links to audio and video sources -- or we will embed these
  4. Collaborate on our papers
  5. Showcase our final projects

NOTE: Please "sign" all your contributions. One recommendation is to use ONLY your first name and last initial; however, if you would like to use your full name, that's OK too. Also, be mindful of giving credit when it is due--use MLA parenthetical and bibliographical citation formats.

I hope this wiki will be useful to you! Let me know if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions.

Scott, excellent use of a wiki to organize this course. Students will appreciate having a central clearinghouse to go to do their work, as well as the opportunity to write collaboratively. You might want to add a Resource link in your sidebar that includes things like the Rhetoric and Composition wikibook text.
